Internship Program

People are our most important resource. SBNG is committed to hiring and training the best professionals to respond to the needs of our clients.

We actively recruit interns from the University of Texas at El Paso (“UTEP”) and New Mexico State University (“NMSU”). Our internship program has been successful in helping us recruit some of the best students in our area and retain our most valuable asset, our people.

Many of our interns are hired as juniors or seniors in the undergraduate program or are in the masters program. This gives us, and the interns, the opportunity to determine if they are a good fit for the Firm. Internships typically can be used to obtain college credit when sponsored by a college or university. Hours are flexible, and in most cases, amount to 25-35 hours per week depending on the intern's school schedule.

Our internships frequently have the potential to become full-time employment opportunities after graduation. We are proud to share the fact that we have employees from intern to manager, who began working with us as interns on Day 1 of their careers.

• Tello Cabrera, CPA, audit shareholder, was hired as an intern and has been with the Firm since 2011.
• Oscar Loy, Jr., CPA, audit shareholder, was hired as an intern and has been with the Firm since 2014.
• America Villanueva, CPA, audit manager, was hired as an intern and has been with the Firm since 2019.
• Brandon Arellano, CPA, tax manager, was hired as an intern and has been with the Firm since 2019.
